Recently, we’ve been asked a lot about our stance on fan merchandise, fanfictions and other related derivative works. As a studio, we’re so happy that others feel passionate enough about our projects that they want to create their own little part of it. We don’t want to discourage this at all, and we just ask that you respect and follow the below guidelines.
Merchandise
- Creating and selling merchandise based off of our games is generally fine, for profit or not, as long as the scale isn’t large and you’re a fan of the series. If you are a large business, we ask that you contact us for licensing.
- Please don’t use official art, assets or logos in your merch.
- We reserve the right to ask you to stop production if your items give poor light to our projects (i.e, associate us with anything offensive or illegal).
Fanfictions
- Fanfictions or fan related stories are fine to create.
- Creating fan stories for commission on any of our IPs is fine.
- We ask that you don’t pull large amounts of script directly from the game.
Derivative Works
- Other derivative works, like fangames, are only allowed non-commercially. You cannot create a game based off of our IPs and sell it.
- You cannot use any official assets. You must source your own. This includes any and all art (sprites, backgrounds, CGs), music, voice acting, UI and anything else that is created by Two and a Half Studios.
- You cannot pull script directly from any of our games. You may base the events of your creation off of official events, but it must be in your own writing.
- You must state your work is a fancreation. Do not state that it’s official or original.
AI
- We do not allow any use of our assets or games for AI usage.
- This includes chatbot AI, “art” AI, and other AI that pop up. Support artists by commissioning art/writing if you would like to have it.
We appreciate you following our policies. If you have any questions, then you are always free to message us. This page may be updated in the future.
